4th ObservIST Meeting

The 4th ObservIST Meeting will take place on September 16, to disseminate the Best Practices identified under the 5th Call, promoting their recognition and sharing.

The practices submitted in the 5th Call of the ObservIST (Observatory of Best Practices of IST), were evaluated by a pool of evaluators, who identified 20 Best Practices, among which the proposal “Design and Production of MOOC Courses at Técnico ” was chosen by the jury as the “Best Practice of the Year 2020 ”.

The IST community is invited to attend this Meeting, which will be broadcast via streaming.

ObservIST recognises 20 Best Practices

The 5th call of ObservIST recognised 20 best practices, divided into six thematic fields.

ObservIST recognised 20 Best Practices. Year after year, the number of best practices recognised at Técnico increases, as well as the involvement of the community. “Design e produção dos cursos MOOC Técnico” has been recognised as IST Best Practice 2020.

The 20 Best Practices recognised this year are included in 6 out of 11 thematic fields defined by ObservIST: Higher Education, Internationalisation, Communication, Infrastructures, Human Resources, Research, Development and Innovation.

Since its creation in 2015, ObservIST has recognised 61 best practices at Técnico, in the most varied domains.

After reviewing the practices submitted for the 5th Call of the ObservIST (Best Practice Observatory), 20 Best Practices were identified, distributed in 6 of the 11 defined subject areas:

  • Higher Education
  • Internationalization
  • Communication
  • Infrastructure
  • Human Resources
  • Research, Development and Innovation

one practice recognized as “Best Practice” contributes to the “link to Society”

5th Good Practice call

The ObservIST launches its 5th  Good Practice call on defined subject areas

The Observatory of Good Practices at IST (ObservIST) is a project that aims to identify, consolidate and disseminate institutional good practices, promoting their valorization and replication, thus boosting continued improvement in the School.

Having already held three  ObservIST meetings , which aimed to disseminate, promote and share the good practices identified in the previous call, the Observist launches its 5th call for Submission of Good Practices until March 10, 2020, and invites the entire IST community to participate.

ObservIST poster at 41st EAIR Forum

The Institutional Studies, Planning and Quality Area presented the ObservIST and the work developed over 5 years of activity at the 41st EAIR Forum under the theme “Responsibility of Higher Education Systems: What? Why? How?” which took place between August 25 and 28 in Leiden, the Netherlands, by presenting a Poster – Elevator pitch.

The IST Best Practice Observatory will be present at the 41st Annual EAIR Forum (https://www.eairweb.org/), held at the University of Leiden, Netherlands, from August 25-28th, 2019.

The topic of the conference is “Responsibility of Higher Education Systems: What? Why? How?”.

Dissemination of Best Practices Recognized by Observist

The Third Meeting of the Observist took place on June 25th.

In this edition of the event seventeen Best Practices (BP), distributed by various thematic fields, were shared and certified, promoting their continuity and dissemination by the IST community.

The Best Practices (BP) are available on the “Best Practices” tab of the Observist website for the purpose of promoting their dissemination.

3rd ObservIST Meeting

The 3rd Observist Meeting will be held on 25th June with the objective of promoting the Good Practices identified in the 4th Call, to promote their recognition and sharing.

After the evaluation of proposed practices, in the 4th Call of Observist, by a panel of evaluators, 17 Good Practices were identified in 7 of the 11 defined thematic areas:

  • Higher Education
  • Internationalization
  • Communication
  • Infrastructure
  • Processes and Quality
  • Human Resources
  • Research, Development and Innovation

The panel of evaluators selected the proposal “From Good to Excellent, a workshop of Soft Skills with history” to “Good Practice of the Year”.

The IST community is invited to this Meeting.

ObservIST’s 4th Call Closed

The 4th ObservIST Call ended on March 22 with the submission of 19 practices distributed by 7 of the established 11 thematic fields:

  • Higher Education
  • Internationalization
  • Communication
  • Infrastructure
  • Processes and Quality
  • Human Resources
  • Research, Development and Innovation

The submitted practices will be assessed by a panel of evaluators and afterwards a Meeting is planned for the dissemination of Best Practices identified in this 4th ObservIST Call. Certificates will be attributed to the proponents of the practices evaluated as “Best Practices “.

This event, scheduled for June 25th, aims to promote the recognition and dissemination of the institution’s Best Practices within IST community.

Certifying Seal of Best Practices

Friday, March 15th, 2019

In the fulfillment of ObservIST’s Mission, a certifying seal of Best Practices (BP) was created. The aim of this certifying seal is to set an additional evaluation format, an institutional added value and merit recognition, and an acknowledgment and encouragement of all those who submit Best Practices to ObservIST. The certifying seal may be posted in institutional documents or digital contents.
